You talk much more logically... an uncracked dash to be installed is definitely a good reason to do the work you mention... Mine has only a tiny crack on one corner... I got lucky.

As for the value...yes, I'm with you on that too. Of course, I hate to get upside down in a car project... but if its something you want to keep, its worth doing right. Hell... I've probably got more than $2500 in my wagon so far...and it ain't painted yet, nor have I touched the interior. And that doesn't include some pretty valuable parts that I've been storing and have since installed. If I added their market value, I'd have closer to $3500 involved I expect.

My wagon is a VERY faded red, so pictures wouldn't do you any good. But it is a nice darkish red, and would be appropriate for a '68. the paint code for it is 46. Mine is a early 1970, so the same paint code should apply to your '68...
