Orange paint and side chrome 140-160

Well, I've decided that I can't afford to have the bodywork done
nicely right now so instead of having it painted by someone else I'm
going to try it myself with zerorust. I think safety red will look
nice. I've painted floorboards on my 122 and they came out nicely,
at least I think the finished product will look a darned sight better
than what I've got right now.

About the chrome trim on the sides, I think I'll be able to preserve
the front fender trim well enough and that's the only stuff that is
totally unique to the 140s (the 240s in salvage yards will be donors
for the rest of the trim). I'll measure around and see if I can use
the later, more sturdy rubber and chrome trim from a 245 and let you
know the results.

In the meantime, I think I'm better off just fixing the brakes and
suspension.

As far as the car not being worth much when I've finished, well,
that would only matter if I wanted to sell it. The 140 is just such
a nice car, with the mechanicals simple enough for me to fix and the
comfort and safety of a modern (mid 80s) car.

As far as pulling the dashboard and such goes -- the windscreen
gasket is shot, I've got a spare (and a new set of windshield trim) and
an uncracked dashboard sitting in my garage itching to be used.
