Thanks to everyone who helped with my "cutting out when idling and hot starting" problem. It turned out that the carbs were adjusted way too rich and the needle was not the best one for the B20. Luckily there was nothing major to fix.
Now I'm sure everyone who doesn't do their own maintenance (shame on us!) has had the situation where one problem is solved at the mechanic and another is created. Mine is that now, my car produces much less engine braking when lifting off the gas. For example I am going up quite a steep hill, lift off, and the car doesn't slow markedly like it used to. On the straight I am having to brake MUCH more because it just doesn't coast to a stop. I think this could also pose problems with emergency stopping distances.
I am determined to fix this myself. Could you tell me where to look and specifics on what to adjust and point me to any pictures that show the set-up.
Thanks, as ever, for your valuable suggestions.
