This is one of those things that I'm not sure about so I'd like to have your opinion.
I ordered several parts from FCP Groton on Feb 21. I received my order on Feb 24. When I opened the box I noticed that two of the parts I ordered were not there and one part that I didn't order was in the box. I ordered a timing belt kit with all the seals but the timing belt was not in the box. They had sent the seals but not the belt. I had also ordered a new coil wire which was not in the box. I did however have a flame trap hose that I didn't order in the box.
I do understand that sometimes things happen so I gave them a call on Friday morning Feb 25. The gentleman I spoke with was not overly friendly but he was helpful. He said they would get the parts right out to me so I went ahead and told him to send me a tensioner along with the two parts and I'd pay for the tensioner and any extra shipping. The gentleman said they would cover the shipping, he apologized and that was that.
I received a box from FCP yesterday that I thought would have all my parts in it --- wrong. They had shipped me the tensioner I had ordered but not the timing belt or coil wire (again!). I looked at the invoice and it showed the tensioner and it had an cryptic note that said "Shorted 026-0109 1306696" and then where they had charged me for the belt tensioner. Needless to say I was not a happy camper.
I called them this morning and yet again explained the shortage to a not overly friendly person. He said they would ship me the two missing parts and apologized. I asked him if it wouldn't be better if he just credited my credit card and I bought the parts from somewhere else. He assured me that I would get the parts this time so I told him to go ahead and ship them.
Am I wrong, or is this bad service. I understood the first mess-up but this one has upset me. This is two weekends in a row (with good weather) that I'm missing because they screwed up .... twice. I need to change the timing belt and Saturdays are the only days I have free -----------Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!
Sorry for the rant but I had to get it off my chest.
