Hmm, so in the process of making a movie that will be "released" in a day or two, on an acceleration run up to about 70 mph, at the top of second gear probably around 5.6-5.8krpm, my car made some nasty noises coming from the engine. I couldn't believe it, but I can't think of anything else that it could've been. Is it possible that my valves were floating with a stock b20b??? The car drives fine, nothing broke, I don't notice anything different. There just was the sound of something not being right and bouncing metal on metal? I can't describe it, and it's not really audible on the movie, but you can turn your computer's speakers up real loud and try to hear it. In real life it was much more apparent, but then again, my ears are really that much better than my digital camera's mild camcorder skills. You will also see its poor skills come into play when I pan down to see the speedometer and it's all dark.
So yes. Is it possible that the valves floated? I have NEVER experienced this before, and I have flogged this engine like this MANY times and revved it higher before without problems. Could a possibly worn timing gear maybe cause this in some way? Maybe? Argh.
Car runs fine, drove it around for the rest of the day, shut down, start up, no problems, seems just the same.
