Thanks to all who posted and for all your help. It turned out to be both the alt. brushes and the alt.I 1st. tried the brush set (had to remove the oil filter to get at the back of the alt.) and after replacing it and starting the engine all the warning lts.where back off but the alt. still wasn't charging. So I replaced the alt. and everthing is O.K. Charlie
