trailing arm bushing replacement 200 1980

Looks like no one is owning up to having actually done ipd's trick on the 200, so I'll offer my unexperienced prediction: Both genuine and homebrew bushing pushers depend on firm, square contact with the bushing's outer shell. After viewing David Samuels' poly inserts, with their flanges, I know I wouldn't be pre-assembling those before installation on the axle.

Of course, the above is with no knowledge of ipd's method or bushing construction, but I sort of gathered you had the same worry.
