Starter problem, not flywheel (unless it's been damaged by the starter) 200 1986

It's like when I turn the key ON (from time to time)...the screech sound happens. Whenever this happens, I immediately release the key and wait for just a second to try again...then it starts normally. I'm hoping it's just the starter. But I want to be sure about the flywheel....cuz I may be selling if it's the flywheel. maybe. i dunno.
