Why not replace it at this convenient time? 200 1990

Art:

Glad you said this and not me. I wholeheartedly trust your opinions, but have been kicking myself for not just ordering one from FCP Groton when I oredered the sender, lock ring, o-ring, hose and sock (needed the sender, got everything else just in case). I just figured I wouldn't need it, but I've been stressing about it ever since.

As for how the thing is broken, the whole plastic connector is snapped off, along with both of the metal connectors inside it. I really can't imagine how it happened, as it looks like the connector died a rather violent death. But, nothing surprises me in this car, a former charitable donation for which I paid $150. It had hit a major pothole or some such thing and laid waste to the front right suspension and the trailing rod bushings in back. The shock probably broke or nearly broke plenty of other little things I'm still finding out about.

There's probably enough connector exposed that I could probe it with the point of a test light, but that's it. So, I might be able to test it in situ. In fact, that might be the way to go, since if it is dead, I'll be abled to drive it until I get a new one.
