Piston slap 700

Both my B230F and B230FT have piston slap. My B230FT was rebuilt (bad piston slap, leaking everywhere) about 40K km ago, the mahle pistons were professionally fit to the bores. About 15 km after the rebuild (basically the 1st drive) the slap returned. Not nearly as bad as before, but it was there. Sometimes it goes away completely (cold or warm) and it is usually apparent even when warm. I broke it in with non-syn 10W30, then switched to Amsoil 10W30 and then to Amsoil 10W40 (which I've used since). Neither oil made a difference. We even tried replacing the valve hushers, no luck. Anyway, I just lived with it. I can't blame my B230F though, it has over 408K km on it. It has been slapping since I bought it at 352K, quite a bit worse when cold. Sounds like it's gonna blow up during light acceleration on a cold morning (lol) but always works great (knock on wood). Uses very little oil too :)
