244 brake light woes

My thoughts is that perhaps you put in the bulb 180 degrees out. The 1157 bulbs have two filiments. One for Running lights and one for Brake lights. The nubs that stick off the bulb are at different heights but you can force them into the socket incorrectly . This will cause the brighter (brake) filiment to be lit when the running lights are on. then the less bright like will come on when you step on the Brake.

Also If you are using Driver side Sockets for the Passenger side, things like that can happen. The sockets are different. I think White Sockets for Drivers side (Port side). not positive
