244 brake light woes

Actually, THe dealer said the white socket is for the 740, and I have a black socket on the passenger side. I'm going up there today and tell them about the white socket. Maybe I'll get to try it and see if it works at no charge.

Well, since I am a 240 guy, I cannot comment on the 740 application. I can definitely state that the 1986+ 244s MUST have the white bulb holder on the right side.

Your brake filament bulb-holder contact is touching the circuit board for the tail light. Lights on = brake filament on.

That white bulb holder is a junkyard part. Don't let them soak you a left one for the @#$% thing.

Good Luck,

Bob
