I'll send you a couple of files that instruct you on how to remove and clean the internal workings of the solenoid.

First things first as prep and maybe save you some work on the solenoid.

Ignition on, engine off, shifter in 4th, dash light OFF. There should be no power at the yellow wire on the solenoid. IF there is, you will have to find out where it is coming from.
