That is precisely what I needed to know. I wasn't sure if that was problematic or not, but I suppose that the worse that really happens is additional wear and tear on the bushings--which is much easier to replace than body panels and axles.
"I'd think that with the u-bolt slipping on the axle that it would wear and sooner or later something will get loose and break, probably the u-bolt."
That was my thought too. I had to tighten my clamp down very tight to keep it from rotating when under heavy force. I think that I am going to tack weld the U-clamp saddle in place once I have given the car a test drive to ensure that I don't have any hitting, rubbing, or binding anywhere.
