starter problems 200

I have a 1992 Volvo 240. The starter works fine when cold, but only sometimes aftyer I have driven and turn the car off and it sits for a while the car won't start and the starter will not turn. It can tyake upto 30 minutes and suddenly the starter will turn.It can be fine for a week and suddenly start again.
Any suggestions? The starter was replaced by Volvo, and it seemed to help as they explained that the starter was faulty?
