Silly remote starter question 140-160 1973

I picked up one of those remote starter triggers to bump the engine around while I adjust valves. The instructions are poorly translated it seems.

Just to check: I pull the coil-distributor wire. Does it need to be grounded? The instructions seem to say yes. Are they right, and if so, how?
