I want to second "playing" with your brick in the fresh snow in an empty parking lot. Get wild and crazy and learn how your vehicle handles.

I like to have chemical hand warmers in the glove compartment. In an emergency they'll also work to warm your feet. And speaking of feet, at the least have cheapo rubber boots or overshoes that will fit.
