I had the classic "can't get out of Park" problem last summer. FAQ was on the money in stating that the microswitch was the most likely culprit. I troubleshot it to death back then, and couldn't confirm this, but spraying contact cleaner/enhancer into the microswitch cured the problem (at least until now) so it was obviously the issue.
I installed a Remote Starter a few days ago, and this problem started right about then, so I want to make sure again that it's the microswitch, before replacing it. Problem is, I have schematics from both the Haynes UK manual, and the Mitchell CD, and neither show the microswitch in the ciruit, as far as I can tell. (Plus there are discrepancies in shift lock solenoid pinouts between the two). I was going to post the 2 schematic sections, but I get error messages when I attempt to add an item to the gallery, even though the images are within spec.
Does anyone have a schematic showing the shift lock microswitch? I'd like to be able to troubleshoot this properly.
Thanks,
