waterpump replacement difficulty level 120-130

No leaking, just a strange noise I hear at idle (kinda like a tiny mouse screeching as a cat goes in for the kill, it's a hard noise to describe). I increase the RPM's slightly and the noise sometimes disappears briefly, then comes back as I continue to increase the RPM's. After the car has been driven a while, I don't hear the noise anymore.

It's coming from the waterpump or alternator area. I'm going to try and figure out exactly where in the next 24 hours. I know it's not the belt, the tension is perfect on that.
