I agree with Phil on the battery being shot. Many places will test it for free for you (most auto parts, KMart, WalMart) and test it under load but sounds like you need a new battery. Would definitely suggest going to an alternator though, as they said, you'll have a lot more juice for accessories. Good luck, Tom.
