Playing the Numbers 140-160 1971

You can download the complete parts list (including engine number listing) from

http://www.gcp.se

Its a useful list .... its how I discovered that my 1974 B20B-powered 142 manual - according to the chassis number - in fact has a 1973 B20A motor from an auto in it, despite the twin strombergs, and is therefore a 6-bolt rather than 8-bolt motor :o(

This was confirmed when I got it registered and when they punched the engine number into the computer at the registration authority, it came up as a "blue 1973 Volo 144 automatic" ! My car is red, and has never been resprayed .... they figured no-one would try to "re-birth" a 30+ year old Volvo illegally so let me get away with it

No matter - it will get a rebuild later this year with any luck ! I have scored a B20E head (with injector ports already plugged) for AUD$25 from a wrecker last year - off a single-carbed 145 of all things :o)
