I am an electronic engineer and am scared about the advice in this thread (sorry to be direct, but you guys get scared about my mechanical advice!). I'll reply later with the correct advice, can't spend much time on this while at work...
As a note regarding the indicator flasher, I *think* a so called electronic flasher will work fine. But the old/standard electromechanical flaser needs the current drawn by bulbs to operate properly. If you do not draw enough current, it flashes at a fast rate. One "trick" is to fit a high power resistor across the LED lamp, and that is most likely what the "performance tuners" shops will tell you.
