I had the same problem in rain and a heavy snow. It turned out to be the distributor. HOWEVER, I couldn't afford to fix it right away, and I couldn't just hope it wouldn't rain. I keppt a can of WD-40 with me. When it stalled (infrequently), I'd spray the WD-40 on distributor and plug cables, and that seemed to dry it out enough.
