You can apply a quick 12 V to the solinoid and then try again. There could be mechanical pressure beteen the two, depending on what was done prior to removal, although it was probably off. The few I've taken apart required using a chizel tapping manuver between OD and tranny case. Kinda like walking off the OD, keeping everything even as you walk it off. The shaft from the tranny which goes in there is longer than you minght think. The weight alone of the OD can make it hard to move.
