Stalling 200 1990

You've got some good info from others so far. There is a wee bit of truth to the mechanic's story. While LH 2.4 isn't brilliant, it DOES make long term adjustments, and learns to cope with wear and tear on components, and will indeed need to adjust to work with new parts... but not for too long. Have you disconnected the battery for a few minutes to reset the LH computer's brain? It may have picked up some bad habits from the original AMM and O2 sensor.

Did they use a Bosch AMM? or rebuilt?

Check for vacuum leaks... especially the main accordion hose. Any fault codes?
