Hi. On my rojo I use a MSD 5 ignition module between coil and dizzy. Of course, the points remains. The red brick (the MSD, not the volvo) automatically adjust the dwell angle and make it independent of the points. Points (without the need of manage high voltages) remain ok a lot of time (mine is three years aboard) and only need to be replaced when the fiber part on contact with the axis lobes is worn.
MSD5 is a inductive thing (MSD6 is the Capacitive Discharge unit, a bonus on tuned cars, mine is a standard one and MSD5 fit as a glove). My MSD5 come from a junkyark on miami (half of price new, including coming it to my city in Peru). It is a non standard item, but it is a lot easy to install and maintain.
