I think every American manufacturer that has a 3.8 V6 has Head gasket issues. Not Just Ford.
You are correct, Head gaskets and crappy Tranis.
The worst of it is that they are so crammed under the hood that it is ridiculously hard to do.
These cars are designed to fail at the warranty mileage, that's what's wrong with American Manufacturing. MTBF Mean Time Between Failure... If you can design something cheaper and have it last just past the warranty stage, you win a prize.
Get those customers back into our Service garage or back in the show room. Because the engine compartment is so tight,If they come into the Service area, they can charge you much more Labor hours to do a job that used to be 5 minutes on an old car. Keep the money flowing.
I better step off the Soap box, I'm starting to work myself into a lather
