VIN is YV1AW8800P1958155, I bought from original owner who picked it up in sweeten. Original teal paint said to be special color and was original with nice clear finish and no fading, had matching mirrors, was under coated and never saw salt.. No rust anywhere including spare tire wells. I just put about 1800 into it plus some of my own time and parts to renew things like exhaust, struts, ball joints..motor mounts, etc. I have a lot of 240's and this one had none of the normal age failures... even the dash was perfect. Anyhow, I don't need the classic nor does my wife but it was nice to know it would hold its value and that’s why I bought it other than the fact she hated the 740 turbo I got her and only wants to drive a stick. I can save the interior, 3 wheels and the tail gate emblem... its the front end that’s gone.
If I can figure how I will post some photo(s) -thanx info.. here is some feed back from NE dealer who emailed me.. it indicates that it is possible to sell em for 7500 + ... now I just want to know who's got a classic wagon with a 5speed that wants to sell it. maybe I better wait to see what the insurance company gives us first!
"In the last year I have sold three 245s for $8500 each. One had over 250k miles, These weren't even classics; just DLs . Yes there is a very strong market for very good condition 240s."
