ipd sways

You might contact IPD and ask just what the differences might be. They are generally pretty friendly and helpful. I suspect the bars will fit most, if not all, 740/940 sedans.
I got IPD bars for my 95 944T and since the stock bars were new and my 87 wagon had no rear bar, I transplanted the 940 bars to the 745T after adding some rear brackets I pulled from a seadan @ the Pick N' Pull.
The 95 940 bars/brackets fit the 87 740 wagon with no problems.
