That pic you have looks like what I found. It comes in 2 pieces? Remember, I have never seen a collet before.
My theory is that the oil delivery failed on that rocker arm, it was much drier than the exhaust one, which caused the valve guide to get sticky and put too much pressure/force on the top of the valve, breaking the collet. The guide may have kept the valve from dropping through to the piston. I think I would have heard the noise!
My mechanic will hear about it on Monday. This is a brand new area for me, and I don't know what damage I am looking for, as well as other areas which may be affected.
