Yuk! 1800 1973

Probably not a "good" reason, but the only reason I could think of to not use them is that I never thought they were very attractive.

I have no idea if they fit or not, or if they are better than the steel wheels, just never cared for the look.

I guess this is not a good or bad reason, just my opinion.
Have fun and do what you want with it, but I like the later style better.
