To add to what Cameron has told you. Make sure that when threading the chain under the dash that you make sure to stay clear of your underdash wiring. I was demonstrating how my blind works on the weekend and managed to snag one of tach wires ( the one going to the coil). the next time I tried to start the car, you guessed it, it wouldn't start. Fortunatly the car was parked in my driveway at the time.

A reliable old car is not necessarily one that doesn't break down, but when it occasionally does it is in a convenient place and at a convenient time.
