Solved...Never avoid regular maintenance !!! 200 1984


Glad you got it going.

A related story - sort of:

This past spring my mower wouldn't start. The previous fall, I'd hit a rock or something and it stalled, I was sure I'd busted the crankshaft key and needed to replace it - a moderate PITA job.

Tried cranking just to see if I would get lucky - no joy.
Then tried cranking with the air filter removed.
Joy!
The d**m filter was so clogged the poor thing wouldn't run at all.
Got it a new filter and a spark plug and changed the oil; it ran all summer and is now on "winter vacation".
