Control arm replacement. 200

You really need a press to change out the bushings. I just did my third set a couple of days ago.

The big problem I've had is that the rear bushings' inner sleeve rusts tightly to the A-arm spindle. On the car I just did, removal of the old sleeves via Dremel, chisel and torch was innefective; I really needed a milling machine or a precision grinder. Those bastids were stuck... recall that rust never sleeps.

So new A-arms were necessary in order to get the car back on the road, and with the limited time the only ones available were Scan-Tech. I won't paint with too broad a brush; in 18 years of Volvo ownership I've used a lot of there stuff. Some is crap, a lot is quite serviceable. Given a choice, avoid Scan-Tech bushings; get the OEM Boges from fcpgroton (just ask them).

The fronts don't seem to wear anywhere near as quickly as the rears, but I was planning on doing them anyway. With new A-arms, it was mandatory.
