original B16 engine or later? 444-544

I did this to a 444, but I also put in a later B18 engine with an M41 and D type OD.
If you have the original engine, a B16 with an M4 transmission, I don't know that you can bolt a D type overdrive onto your B16 bellhousing. I know that some early B16 engines did have overdrives, but I'm not sure that trans/OD units are the same for B16 and B18
