The end result 140-160 1974

Well,

I used the 240 starter, and the 7/16"-14 bolts. If I didn't break my bottle jack I might have been able to wedge the engine over enough to get longer bolts in. The 240 starter had more room for nuts on the front, so I chose that. The bottom nut is holding it, the upper one needs to be ground down by about 5mm on the face and maybe 2 on each side to fit; so it's just kinda in there. I'll tap the 140 starter for M12 threads, keep it around maybe.

Was really surprised that I had no visible damage to the pinion or flywheel teeth. Man did that make a horrible noise when it was hanging like a loose tooth...

It's alive, for now.
