If you have a bracket which fits the alternator but doesn't allow use of the stock belt, simply take a measurement and buy a shorter (or longer) belt.
Be careful there. If you go too short, you'll be bringing your alternator too close to the exhaust manifold for comfort. If you go too far in the other direction, you'll have your alternator up against your lower radiator hose.
Ask me how I know. I prefer being close to the radiator hose over close to the exhaust manifold.
