mAYbE THE insulation on the rpm sensor is splitPull the wire away from the firewall&check it out.
Then wrap it w/aluminum heat tape [from a bldrs supply,like home depot]&wrap it around any open area.If you don't have any use aluminum foil&wrap it w/ electric tape or duck tape.
If that isn't it try to replace the fuel pressure reg. on the fuel rail.That could also make a no start
