16 Valve Engine 700 1990

I somewhat agree with Kurzweil. The 16 valve engine will surely be more expensive to work on. But, if its just a standard block with a twin cam head, I'd give it go. My first Volvo is a 1990 740 wagon with the 8 valve non-turbo engine. I don't have cruise control or power seats, which narrows the field of things that can go wrong. Very easy to work on and no fuss.

Unlike the 1987? peugeot 505 STI. It had $600 starters and a funky electrical system. Fun to drive only when it was running.
