Hi there, I'm interested in having a car insured by you guys some day, but am curious as to what classifies as acceptable usage. Is there a specific mileage that I would not be able to go over? I ask, because I'm interested in driving the car somewhat often, and also would like to take one long road trip almost every year
that alone would accumulate over 1000 miles.
Thanks in advance,
Kyle Eisenbach (1968 Volvo 142 with a later engine installed among other modifications)

Dear Kyle:
Thank you for your recent email! Our policy is a flexible but limited use policy. We do not limit you to just show and club use. Occasional pleasure driving fits our underwriting guidelines, but our policy is not intended for vehicles regularly driven to work or school or for running errands. We look for usage that is consistent with owning a valuable automobile and the availability of insured regular use vehicles for daily transportation.
Since we write coverage based on "agreed value" our concern with excessive mileage would be the depreciation of the collector vehicle. The average mileage generally put on a collector vehicle is approximately 3,000 miles annually. We realize that many hobbyists enjoy driving their vehicles and are involved with a number of club or classic auto events or tours that might put them in excess of that "standard" average mileage.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to call our office at (800)922-4050 and any one of our friendly agents will be happy to assist you. We are open Monday - Friday 8:30am - 8pm, Saturday 8:30am - 4pm and Sunday 12pm - 4pm (Eastern).
Regards,

I kind of laughed to myself when they mentioned mileage decreasing the value of the car... As it has about 275,000 on it. Granted, I didn't send them the required engine, interior, trunk, and whole pictures... :)
