Headlights 200 1990

Art is heading you in the right direction most likely, had the same Gremlins in my 86 lighting. You can get a new sockets with the wires ready to attach at almost any parts store (change both connectors). Do not have to go to a Eurohouse for them. The contacts in the socket get loose over time and it is not an expensive fix at all. Replace the entire ground wire on both sides with a good chrome plated lug the same size and a new 16 or 18 wire added to the splice. Use good shrink tubing over the splice and then a good protective layer of tape. That what got rid of Inga's head light gremlins.

Oh yes, clean up the contact point for the ground lug with a wire brush before you reconnect the Gnd wire. That tarnish and rust is most likely a major source of the problem.

Added new Silver Star's with the new sockets and ground wires on Inga and very major upgrade to lighting. Even had to spend quite a bit of time getting the alignment of the lights just right. Before that that was not an issue, you could barely see anything off in the distance anyway no matter how they were adjusted.

Good Luck,

PT
