thanks for the info. I thought it was wrong. I also contacted Swedish treasures in not too far away NY. They gave the following information as the correct part:

678226 Gearshift boot for gearbox w/long throw gear shift lever
(without gearbox lid extension) 140 -1972, Black

No pic but they specifically say it is for up to 72 with the long shifter.

Sound right?
