I used to have problems with the fuel pressure regulator when i used an afetrmarket pump, spilt a lot of fuel on the exhaust manifold, never caught fire though. All my vehicles, and my worksites have a fire extinguisher handy.
As the others said clean them, but for now you can try a nice hard knock on the top of the flaot chambers, this is an easy fix for a sticking valve, the sharp tap sometimes loosens it. Good Luck, and travel with a fire extinguisher. ( I saw a beautiful new VW burn to the ground because no one had an extinguisher, i have changed my ways since then)
