I followed Ron's instructions from Swedish Embassy (thanks, Ron). Fuses are all fine. As I wrote in the previous post, the D+ to chassis gives 1.8V at idle, up to 2.8 while revving (which makes me think the generator is doing something anyhow). I tried the Regulator bypass test (several times) with no results. I'm a little wary of trying the "disconnect the generator" tests unless I really need to, and I'm surprised that the generator would fail after only two years. After idling the car a whole bunch to run these tests I still seem to have plenty of starting and running juice (are the headlights dim? Hard to tell, they were never particularly bright in the first place). My phobia of electrical problems is one of the reasons I bought a car with four fuses in the first place, but it seems I can't escape (and I'm wishing now I'd upgraded to the alternator instead of replacing the generator two years ago--didn't know I could do that then). I'm guessing I should run the generator tests? What do you guys think?
