One other thing could be the ECT sensor which will send the wrong reading for engine temp to the ECU which in turn will dump gas in engine. I saw one that black smoked so bad that you couldn't see the rear end of the car and a sensor replacement cleared it up immediately. Check the FAQs for trouble shooting.
