I forgot to mention that Lamps and Lenses (www.lampsandlenses.com) has nice glass lenses to replace the units with.
As was cited earlier on this thread, these are E-code lenses. IMO, the E-code beam pattern is far superior to the senseless DOT standards.
Anyway, because it's different, I would suggest getting a pair. It's about ~$120.
I did this very repair on these headlamps on my '95 960. The lenses are very nice.
I did re-use the original seal rather than the ones that were sent with the lenses as there was no seam on the originals. I just cleaned and lubed them up with a little SilGlyde and then re-installed them. I have had no leaks.
You need to be gentle and careful when removing the old lenses to avoid damage to the seals.
Do the disassembly on the bench, NOT on the car. Removal of the entire headlamp assy is quite easy with the bumper off.
I did not need to readjust anything after the R&R.
