No start before or after Weber conversion 140-160

"Also your timing gear may have gone south - That happens to about 100% of them sooner or later."

And, valve timing is easy enough to check. Bring it around to TDC and remove the valve cover. Are both intake and exhaust rockers "loose" on #1? If not, rotate another 360 degrees, again stopping at TDC. Are they loose now? If not, the cam is not timed to the crankshaft; time to pull the timing gear cover to get a closer look at things.
