If the 740 too has an N/A B230F engine, I'd say yes, you can use it without worrying about possible differences in stall speeds (different torque converters).

Lock-up: The L boxes have a mechanical lockup through the valve body. An advantage when going at highway speeds in the highest gear as it saves some gas.
