I have the Weber on my amazon and it is a bit sensitive in the very cold weather. I have manual choke so I've just gotten into the habit of keeping a bit more choke on it for a longer period. If you have an electric choke you pay want to try adjusting it as Paul suggests. You may also want to try richening the idle screw just a bit- that should also slightly richen the off-idle or idle transition circuit and it may help.
And I do have to pump mine quite a bit- at least 5-8- when it's cold.
Overall I like the Weber. And I have SUs on three of my other cars, H4 and HS6.
Good luck!
Jim
