Odd noises when coasting 120-130

Hi Bill, thanks for the thoughtful responses.
I forget to specify that I'm talking about my 1968 130. The 67 wagon is partially disassembled for the $50.00 paint job. The wagon is receiving the 1800E treatment and has an 1800E engine, brakes, wheels, rear end, and M41 J-type overdrive. I need to find another 1800 to upgrade the 130 with...

Anyway...
The 68 sedan has an M40, a 4:10 rear end, and I cruise on the highway at 65 mph or slower with rpms smoothing off at 3200. I rarely ever go faster. The commute is reasonably level, but there are a few light hills - nothing especially steep.

I had not checked the brake adjuster, but it is on my list. I was mainly worried about the calipers and hoses since I was not seeing the scouring I would have expected from binding brakes...

The mileage on the car is very questionable. The odometer had stopped at 43k and it is known to have sat in a barn from 1985 to 2007. The original motor died from a failed oil pump but was replaced with an identical B18B with very low miles. I tested the compression at 175-180 psi per cylinder. That's my best indication that the car has low-miles, but the truth is unknown.

The carbs a a bit worn with some air-leakage around the throttle shaft seals, but there is no perceptible wear on the needles and everything moves smoothly.

I generally run the cheap gas just due to the way that I've been losing it. No sense is dumping $3.00 gas on the highway...
